Excellent conditions Friday covering all of the beats. Plenty of Salmon showing on beats 6, 5 and 3 but sadly no takers. A good lift of water followed over the weekend. River now back to a very good height for us and weather forecast is good so we are ever hopeful.

Poor weather conditions, nothing from 10.30am till 5.30pm. We caught everything in the last hour, 3 Rainbow Trout caught on a spinner and one on worm. 2 others came off the spinner.
Roads surrounding the reservoir in dire need of repair, some pot holes would better be described as craters.

Lovely day on the river, but water a bit low. The egret is still around - spotted above the bridge. Lots of birds including Kingfisher and Ravens, but no fish caught. Managed several rises to various flies but no takes. I suspect the rising fish were mainly small and not trout.

Only really fishable pool was at the junction with the Escley - water level so low and even here there was no flow. No surface activity and only a couple of very sluggish follows to a goldhead nymph. Looked a very different river to my visit in early June.
Still an enjoyable day with Kingfisher(s) and Dipper(s) put in several appearances.
