A peaceful day trotting red maggots on a split cane rod. Running fast in places but clear. Recent floods have changed the river landscape, trees gone, banks undercut, and pebble shores moved. A lot of bankside vegetation had been flattened by the spates which made access easier. Fish caught all over the best. Virtually no wind which meant very few leaves. A perfect day, thanks WUF

Can't quite believe the nice weather I'm getting this week, perfect conditions here ( 0.5 ddol gauge) one of my favourites beats but not the easiest to fish but at this level it's whole lot better. Only fished the bottom beat today but strangely the top and bottom pools didn't fish well at all? ( only 1 fish from each) all fish caught euro nymping and had grayling to 16" ( no tiny ones) and trout to 14" again all a good size.

Strange day. Started at first light. Conditions perfect. Had a couple of good chub early and lost a decent barbel at the net. Then quiet until 2.30 and the chub came on to feed. Sadly no more barbel though. The guns were out and at various times it was like an artillery barrage. Celebrating Trump’s victory?

Fished middle of beat, old wharf area, on or close to crease. Fish, all 3-4 lbs, came to spiced meat. Left some rigs in river bed snags.
Not a great day by Wyebank standards but…no sign of eels. A bonus.

Arrived about midday to find the river in fine condition. Trout throughout the beat but some decent sized grayling in amongst them, biggest around 17ins.

Slow today and didn’t manage to locate any shoaling Grayling. River still a bit too high to target them in their usual haunts though. Two nice fish of 15” and 16”, the rest small. Pink and purple grayling bugs took most of them.
I tried to upright the Llanstephan gauge as it had presumably taken a direct hit from a tree during the recent spates. Only a little improvement unfortunately and it will need to be reset in due course.
