Spent two days with my brother (R M) and agree with all his comments. It was hard going due to the great weather (not for fishing!)but can't wait to have another go. I lost 2 what felt like really big fish the second one left me stunned!

Lovely day. River looked great. Little too clear. Really enjoyed being there, unfortunately fish didn't want to play.

Hot and sunny conditions. Very good access on this beat, open banks and plenty of swim choice. No fish on this day. Please note there is a makeshift pumping station running at different times during the day which is very noisy and shatters the peace.

Bright and clear weather conditions, river low. A and son J on this beat today and with little info to go on decided to fish close to the first croy downstream. Bites were hard to come by during the day although J had a Barbel early and ended up with 2 barbel and 4 Chub. Dad A finished up with 5 Chub, all fish came on groundbait feeder with pellet hookbaits.

Arrived at the river at 7.30AM.Weather bright and clear and the river low. We opted to fish from the croys in the middle of the beat and P had a Chub fairly quickly,I started fishing just after 9 A.m.and caught a Chub about two and half pounds first cast then with the sun up a long biteless period followed for all of us. During the afternoon I moved downstream past the bend and with the sun behind the trees started to get bites that resulted in 3 Barbel to 7lbs and 6 Chub to 5lbs, around 6PM I lost my hook length on a fish I couldn't stop so returned to the croy I started at and added two more Chub and a Barbel. P had two more Chub and K one Chub. I think the higher light values through the middle of the beat was a factor, packed up at 7PM.

Fished end pool, which was the only one available due to low conditions. Caught a few small barbel and chub in morning, then had an afternoon siesta (sunday lunch at the Wye Not Inn, Symonds Yat). Returned at 4.30 and had bigger barbel up to 8lb 14 oz. Method was blockend feeder hemp and pellets. Excellent fishing and good to see different sizes of barbel, some only 1lb!

Very overgrown. Only one decent swim, very weedy. Caught nothing. Left after two and a half hours after not a single bite.
WUF note - This beat has a number of easily accessible swims. The Booking Confirmation email offers anglers the opportunity to contact the beat owner directly who can meet them on their arrival and introduce them to the beat and the swims available that are fishing best at that time. Anglers are advised to use this service to maximise their chances of catching and their fishing experience.

Area:Lugg & Arrow
Beat:The Eyton Beat
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:1
Warm day with the river very low, most stretches are almost at a stand still, apart from some small flowing riffles. 3 small fish caught, 1 little brownie 5" taken on a small dark wet fly and 2 very small grayling taken on a size 16 black gnat. Some rainfall would benefit the river.
It is as mentioned a superb beat, but please take the point about work needed above the top weir, as most of this section is unfishable and needs clearing.
Excellent service from the booking office.

Pretty happy with the catch given it was such a bright sunny day. Two decent chub and 2 small ones taken on meat and pellets. A very nice day to relax by the river and watch the dragonflies and kingfishers fly by.
