A hot sunny day made fishing difficult and at times uncomfortable, but we managed a few chub and barbel between us. Church Stream is probably best fished early and late as canoes make life difficult during the day as they come right beneath one's feet. However, the swimmers stayed on well into the evening!

We enjoyed a very successful session fishing in the faster water opposite the Weir Garden using a variety of methods with pellet baits. Only fished from 3pm - 9pm and sport was fast and furious at times with barbel between 4lbs - 8lbs.
Left it too late to book a taxi so walked to the river. However as we wanted to fish the faster water we had a further half mile walk downstream - take care if you do this as there are some very deep holes in one of the fields hidden by long grass. I think this needs attention as a serious injury could occur in a remote location.
If a shorter route could be made available across the fields that would be a very positive development.

Hot sunny day which killed the fishing really. Sporadic, infrequent rises with only a few small trout taken on dries. Superb section of the river though and will definitely return. Thanks to WUF for making all of this possible.

Fished a selection of small flies and then a wooly buggy due to large amount of fry in the margins. Fished during bright sunshine, no fish movement until late in the evening when the light started to fade.

We had an enjoyable day, albeit not quite as productive as some previous visits to this beat, probably due to the hot and bright conditions. My fishing partner beat me 8 to 6 in terms of barbel, although sabotage and underhand tricks helped to tip the balance in his favour.
The lower parts of the beat look a bit different after the winter floods with a couple of dramatic landslips on the far bank, but the barbel are still there.

Water with in surprising good 'nick' at 8" on Fownhope gauge and felt very fishy. Two shows of small class fish and a couple of bumps to the fly is all I have got to report. Good work on the bank, access to pools never been easier. Thank you.

Great days fishing for my son and I. 13 barbel and 6 chub including a new pb for me of 10.5lbs. Fishing was great in the morning but pretty much died in the afternoon. Early evening didn't improve but we had to leave by 7pm.
Still pleased with the overall result. Dust time on this stretch. Have fished Home fishery previously with success but fed up with the walking, so it was nice to have a short walk and settle in to a swim made the day. Booked again for a few weeks time. Hopefully we'll get some rain in the river between now and then, but not too much.

1 rainbow trout on worm. Very slow day, 8 hours of fishing with only one bit. Nobody else appeared to catch anything.
