A fine day in waders!
First fish of the day went like train and measured 18". 5 fish on heavy beaded bugs to combat the extra clear water. Broken twice by very powerful takers. The evening saw a brief hatch of mayfly and 2 fish taken on dries.

River still a bit coloured but huge variety of fly life including Mayflies and Iron Blues. Fish just weren't really feeding yet after the spate. Fantastic beat beautiful surroundings.

Lovely river and countryside. Fairly high water, plenty of fly life but only a few rises all day. Wet fly 1x12oz, returned.

1ft on the Brecon gauge but seemed quite lot of water coming through and slightly coloured. Fished evening ticket from 5-8pm and greeted with some sporadic rising fish in the light breeze. Covered carefully (large Grey Wulff) they all took freely. Any clumsy moves soon spooked them.
Very pleasant evening after all the recent rain but not that warm. 5 trout 8-12inches. Largest taken. All went very quiet soon after 7pm.

Caught a 25cm rainbow trout on Sunday, east bank with a float and bait, drop of about 18" with a worm. Overcast.

Surprisingly very clear water after several days rain. Very little trout or fly activity up to 7pm. Possibly a little too cold still. Lovely surroundings.

No salmon even seen running, disappointing. A few trout and a shad caught.

Various delays meant I didn't arrive until 6pm and fished until 9pm. Stream was higher than I remember and a little coloured. Not much movement, saw perhaps 4 rises to naturals (a few large-ish upwings, unsure of species, drifting off for the first 90 mins), but a CDC pale watery generated more interest taking 3 and bringing up a handful more to splash at it. First was 5", next two about 12", really excellent colours and looking healthy, all released.
This is a lovely stretch of water with decent variety and the fields on the left bank are particularly lovely at the moment, tall grass full of wild flowers. Tall vegetation along large parts of the bank make a sneaky approach fairly easy and there's a lot of tree cover for hot days. Casing in some sections is tricky, but who wants it easy all the time? I fished a 8' 2" 3wt, but only needed it in two places. Something a little shorter and lighter would have been fine.
