Fished from approx 10:00 to 20:00 and a very enjoyable experience. All fish taken were small browns, the biggest being about 1/2 lb and all taken on small nymphs primarily bead head hares ears. Water still a little low so access easy. Plenty of salmon movement in the top pool, nothing else lower down.

All very quiet - a handful of small trout caught to nymphs at the end of the day.

This is certainly a wild stream! I fished it for a couple of hours with a six-foot cane rod - anything else would have been hugely over-gunned. Great fun though and four feisty little trout to show for it.

Fished the late afternoon and evening. Few fish showing and only a couple of small fish to show for my efforts.

Started at bottom of beat and slowly fished upstream using both upstream nymph (PTN) and dry fly (small red tag). Water level good and very slightly coloured. Managed 4 btr, best being 13in! Marvellous day overall, fine weather and tricky fishing. Slightly surprised to meet another angler (not Wye and Usk) fishing downstream.

Fantastic day on Irfon for JD from Porthcawl and JE from Surrey. JD stubbornly persevered on dry to get 1xWBT 16" plus 2x10" and 2 grayling 14". JE mixed wet and dry to net a couple each of WBT and grayling. This beat has all types of water and is extensive although everything switched off mid-afternoon. JD waded up a blind alley which took a long time to reverse out of. Wading is quite difficult in places.

Started fishing around 1pm, caught 4 fish drifting ptn nymphs down stream. One nice fish around 14inches, the rest a respectable 10 inches.
Had a couple of pints of HPA in the bell hoping for an evening rise but no luck. Lovely beat.

River very low. Caught the fish in the fast flow on heavy feeder, groundbait/small pellets, with pellet on hair rig. Lots of effort but worth the hard work.

River had risen about 2 foot on Thursday, now fined down and looked good. K had 3 barbel, best 7lb and 1 Chub 4lb-8oz. G had 1 Barbel 8lb-12oz and 1 Chub 4lb-5oz. T had 1 Barbel 7lb and 1 Chub 4lb-3oz. All fish caught on halibut pellets.
Nice stretch. Don't know if us 3 old pensioners can afford £45 for a days coarse fishing next year!

I used feeder tactics in a swim near the upstream boundary. Difficult conditions again due to floating weed though the river had fined down considerably from Thursday. Only caught 2 small chub but also lost a fish which dived into a near bank snag. Also saw a large fish leaping in mid-river which due to it's size I can only assume was a salmon.
Thank you to the Wye and Usk Foundation for a very pleasant couple of days. I would heartily recommend you to any friends wanting to fish the Wye.
