[n.b. Gary Evans was fishing on Wed. 13th not 14th] Arrived at the river at 8.15 full of optimism having heard of news of Gary's success yesterday evening. River 0.75m on the gauge carrying a little colour but unfortunately barometer dropping fast.I was treated to a pod of salmon passing through with approximately 7 head and whirry tail rises at the neck of rock pool in the space of 20 mins. A wonderful sight. Unfortunately they were clearly unimpressed by my efforts with fly and spinner and their intransigence lasted until I called it a day at 6.15. with river carrying more colour and starting to rise again. Another cracking day. I remain totally hooked on this salmon fishing lark. Amazing creatures. If I ever catch one I will be a basket case!

River in good condition - reasonably full, good flow and fairly clear. No salmon caught and none seen, though we fished fairly hard.Only small trout/parr hooked.
A lovely beat. The wading is quite tough in places - we had two spills and one auto life jacket infated.

My favourite brook was strangely quiet and with recent rains lower than I thought it might be. Not much hatching and consequently nothing much rising. Finished after about 4 hours with 8 trout in total, 4 of them 12 inchers and an absolute jewel of a baby trout about 4 inch long in amongst the others. Taken on Greenwells or small mayfly patterns.

Fished from around three fifteen to six thirty. Weather fine; little wind and no rain. Very few fish rising - just sprats. Had several takes on size 18 dry (winged, brown, anonymous) but nothing hooked. Tried Mayfly (there were a few on the water) but no interest - either in mine or the real thing! Finally tied on a small GRHE which hooked a feisty 8 inch WBT (returned).
Made a determined effort to move upstream on the RB side: the steep, wooded-bank quickly developed into a nearly vertical cliff. Went back downstream and considered trying LB access but looked a bit overgrown. The Triffrwd Brook pool awaits !
