After 4 days fishing on the Wye I was pretty much fished out. Arrived to find river a little bit up and with colour. However it was clear blue sky and very hot and humid. I decided to have a short fish at the top croy but no luck. It was really too hot to fish so packed up and returned home. I'd had a good week. Will perhaps try the beat sometime later in the year (when it's cooler !!).

Water height and clarity were good but I did not move any salmon. However a 4lb chub did take my size 12 fly - I'm not sure who was more surprised - but he is back in the water to provide future sport to someone with lighter tackle.

River slightly up on its normal summer level and carrying more colour than normal so we were quietly confident. Finished with 9 barbel & 3 chub between us with a further 3 or 4 barbel lost and a number of bites missed, all the bites were big looping dropbacks which required a sweeping strike to connect with. All in all we should have done better given the conditions but still a cracking day out in fantastic surroundings!

A near cloudless day with bright sunshine so not ideal for fishing. No fish caught. I stayed until dusk when a few salmon showed below the hut.

Lovely river - browny and 2 chub on klink in the morning and then difficult fishing. Not alot rising untill the evening. The rise was superb, fish feeding all up the river. Hatches of "you name it they were there" even a few mayfly. Stopped counting after about 15-20,the same for A fishing with me. Biggest fish about a pound and half all fish on dries. Brilliant day!!!!!

This is a lovely stretch of water, however despite trying various lures no fish caught, probably because I arrived there later than intended and it was a hot, sunny day. This was my first booking through the Wye and Usk Foundation and I have found the organisation and service quite impressive.

This is a beautiful place to fish. Got there early in the morning, weather was hot. Scouted out a nice swim. Easy access to all the swims, well kept place, river was clean and good to fish. After about an hour my mate had the first barbel on the bank, a very nice 9lbs in mint condition taken on pellet. Soon after I was into a 6lber and the day just got better. In total we had 15 fish, great fights from them. Could not ask for more. The directions on the map were spot on. Will be back for more, great place and a big thanks to the WUF for this fabulous beat, one of my best days on the bank and my friends too. Highly Recommended !!! See you soon.

What a gorgeous bit of water. Secluded, diverse with some deep pools, shallow glides and riffles. I fished the morning of one of the hottest days of the year with bright sunlight. I was not going to catch in a month of sundays in those conditions. A lovely day wading nevertheless
