Wash-off day declared for Sunday, however I did turn up just in case. Had a good look around.
A note for those to fish following my visit. The rough 'track' from Lady Alexander's pool up to the top of the beat passes along the bottom of a high bank. In last Friday's storm 4 or 5 good sized trees have fallen from this bank toward the river making passage to the top a huge obstacle course and extremely hard going.
This will need some chainsaw work to clear. W&UF notified already.

Caught 5 WBT all on a size 16 greenwells glory, quite a few mayfly fluttering about and floating down the river but were seemingly totally ignored by the trout.

Had 6 Brownies - 2 around 6" the rest around 8" to 12". 5 caught on Tungsten bead nymph (hares ear and red holo rib).
One caught on a balloon caddis.
Plenty of Mayfly coming off but nothing feeding on them.
Water still coloured after the rain made for hard work.

Nothing taken.
I think the Wye and Usk foundation website and booking system is excellent. Will certainly use in the future to explore some fishing around the Brecon area.

Lovely day, no fish showing until later in the afternoon when connected with (but lost) 3 fish. Word of advice for the less agile angler... the access to the top pools is not great.
