River a bit high for wading and getting the flies down to the fish, even with heavy nymphs, but we had a lovely day on a very beautiful river.

River very high and coloured. A few knocks but that was about it. First time I’ve blanked on this beat. I’ll be back again hopefully in better conditions!

A hard day on a high but dropping river, fished the swim near the bottom with the big slack, 2 bites & 2 Chub, water didn't feel that cold to the touch so thought the Barbel would be about buy not to be on this occasion

River up nearly a metre overnight and kept rising throughout the day. Only 2 swims that were remotely fish able, but the old adage of fishing a rising river proved correct. 8 barbel between 2 of us all coming between 11 am and 3pm. Biggest was around 7lb. Fantastic day - thanks W & U!

River high, coloured and rising above 3.5 on the Ross gauge but temperature pretty mild and water temps felt ok so we were confident of a few bites
between us. Managed 5 all from the top end including a double at exactly 10lb and a 9lb 11oz.

River had dropped to just below 2m on the Ross gauge, but was flowing strongly, although the chocolate tinge had gone. Fished the margins and slacks. Both barbel around the 6lb mark.

Terribly disappointing today. Had high hopes and having just been ill for over a week missing most of the recent warm snap I was raring to go. One chub on my second cast. After that a couple of clangs but no proper bites. Fished the last swim opposite the castle. Wetted pellet wrapped around a lead, boilie or meat on the hair.

1 Chub
