Strange sort of day ,started quietly but the Thunderstorm with torrential rain arrived in mid afternoon at about the same time the Barbel started feeding, managed a few up to around 7.5 lbs before the wet and slippery banks forced us to pack up a bit early ,nice to meet Stefan and get some tips for our next visit.

River lowish and clearish
All fish on pellets. Couldn't buy a bite on the float, but a feeder in the same line produced plenty. A couple of the chub quite big, probably fives.
Barbel 5-7lb.
....and then it rained. Thunderstorms from mid-afternoon until dusk. Decidedly damp by the time we returned to the vehicles.
