Despite the length of the stretch there are very few swims to choose from, however I chose the obvious one and landed 7 barbel to 9lb 6ozs which is my second best from the Wye.
Pellets were the successful bait.

**WUF note** This is a new beat and has not been open to coarse fishing before now - access and swims due to be improved this Autumn.

Grey, overcast morning with showers. Rain cleared through after lunch, with a cool breeze. Very occasional fish showing - three of which we managed to tempt on a size 18 Parachute Adams. We caught five further fish on size 16 tungsten headed PTNs the best of which was just under 3 lbs - the others ranged from 1/2-1lb.
This beat is always a delight to fish with so many varied pools and runs. Most success was from the faster water at the head of the runs.

Arrived to find to river low and clear. We had to work hard for the fish and ended up roving to catch 1 or 2 from each swim before moving. I ended up with 5 barbel upto 6lb and 8 chub all around the 3lb mark, my partner had 4 barbel and 2 chub one of which weighed 5lb 10 so made his day.

Poor result for my first visit, only caught 4 chub biggest about 4 pounds, and one dace. Chub taken on meat, will be booking again but further upstream.

Fish were not really on the feed but managed 8 barbel and 4 chub between us over the 2 days(3 rods in total). Non english speaking poacher found holed out in one of the more overgrown swims. Banks somewhat treacherous with the rain -careful.

A new venue for us all, the barbel didnt show in the numbers previous catch reports had indicated, perhaps we should have concentrated more on the angling than the hearty breakfast prepared by RH on the banks of this lovely spot. Anyway BIG lessons learnt I think for the next time. We will be back! Our returns for day quite a few chub, mostly to pellets, 4lb 10z a PB for its captor one of many in the 1lb - 4lb range. Last but not least the barbel, only 2 landed 4lb & 5lbs, and one of the lessons the writer of this report will take away, don't turn you back on your rod even for a second whilst engaged in this hobby we all love, the 4lb barbel had it in the river in seconds to be precise. Thanks to T for retrieving it. Finally to all you wonderfully patient and understanding people at the W&U Foundation, especially Adam, my apologies for stalking you all weekend, 1st Class service as usual, a real credit to your organisation.

A delightful day on one of the prettiest beats available via WUF. Water was still a bit low and clear but good fish were taken, mainly Grayling but also a cracking Wild Brownie.

This was a return visit after being washed off a week ago. There was still a little bit of colour in the water, but the river was in lovely condition. Fishing different halves of the beat, we were both treated to the company of otters during the morning. Add in several kingfishers and dippers and the odd deer crossing the river, and you've more than enough to make for a really memorable day quite apart from the fishing! This is a really delightful stretch of water. But there were fish too: between us we had nine trout, the best of which was just over a pound, and four grayling which included the undoubted catch of the day - a lovely fish of a pound and three quarters. We also had a little dace from the bridge pool. A terrific day all in all, only marred by the loss of a landing net. So if anyone finds one...

A pleasant days fishing, although I failed to connect with any fish, I must be getting old! Managed to provoke a few takes on a CDC emerger pattern, access difficult as usual but not impossible and its always good to work for your fishing! I was also somewhat surprised and disappointed to have the company of a pair of cormorants on the beat!

Rod 1 caught 5 barbel to 7lbs. Rod 2 caught 3 chub to 4lbs and 5 barbel 9lbs 14 oz (2ozs short!). All fish taken using halibut and hemp mix in swim feeders (many of them) with 8mm halibut pellet on 10 of the 30 or 40 hook links used between the two rods over the 12 hour session. Fortunately weather and canoe traffic both favourable. 2 of the barbel were hooked and landed with an audience of canoeists so that blows one of my well used excuses out of the water. Salmon very active throughout the day. Sadly have to support comments made in earlier reports about the amount of discarded equipment, mono etc on the bank and empty sweet corn can in the water in the margin (?) but that could have come downstream from non-WUF beats.

Many thanks to the WUF for making such enjoyable fishing possible.
