Fishing:All Species (in season)
Nil return. Didn't see or connect with a fish all day. Clear blue sky and bright sun overhead not ideal (for fishing) but water looked very good.

Lovely day. An exploratory trip to new water, very satisfactory, if disappointing to hear of the retraction of access to one (major) section of the river. One small brown trout out of season (returned) (maybe 5 inches). Two grayling, 8-12 inches (returned). All on parachute coachman, size 14.

3 x grayling 8 inches - 13 inches; 8 x out of season trout 6 inches - 12 inches, on gold bead nymph. Trout still in very good condition here and dominating the pools. Great fun, but this beat rather needs a trim by some-one.

Fishing:All Species (in season)
first time ive fished this beat or river for that matter. I caught 9 grayling upto around 1.5 lb and 4 trout one of which was 1.75 lb. Also caught lots of very small grayling (around 15) which looks good for the future. I did however see a cormorant. This is a lovely river and one which I will fish again.

Beat:Cefnllysgwynne (River Irfon)
Fishing:All Species (in season)
Nice weather, clear water altough on Saturday a bit murky. I fished nymphs wet fly style using fast sinking polyleader(bit weird but I like it). Fish were quite aggresive and takes were firm. I got 4 short grayling and one tiny trout. My friend was more successful and ended up with good number of fish including 5 grayling well over 40cm. He did short nymph better known as czech nymph. Wading is difficult in places - I fell over on Sunday and got wet but carried on fishing;-). The only downside is poor marking of the beat boundaries and parking. It would help if there were signs. But apart from that excellent fishing. Thank you and will be back!
