Beat:Penpont (River Usk)
Fishing:All Species (in season)
Though still high and not particularly clear, a days fishing was possible.
Upstream nymphing with gold and brass head PTN's in sizes 14-18 accounted for 3, with one particularly good fish at 1 1/2 pounds. The other three were much smaller at about half a pound with one little more then a fingerling.
Was long work, having to search all likely places. Beautiful part of the river.

Beat:Salmon fishing on the upper Wye....
Fishing:All Species (in season)
At 3'0 plus, rising with colour, our return is the inevitable nil with no sightings.
Kev provided the entertainment by falling head first into the tail of Rectory Pool and having to swim for it still clutching his rod. Upon reaching the safety of the bank he calmly said - "It's not usually that deep just there". Priceless.

Beat:Backney (River Wye)
Fishing:All Species (in season)
Despite the river carrying extra water, total catch was 19 barbel to 8lbs, 2 anglers with 8 fish each, one with 3, no chub being landed.
Explored the river upstream of the hut but only found one fishable swim, bankside vegitation very dense, not sure if it would have been any better on a normal river, evidence of Mink on the bank, this time remains of rabbit being eaten. Fishing very good downstream of the hut as far as as the fishery limits of the viaduct.
Directions in finding the beat very good, however would have appreciated some Wyeuskfoundation notice boards/signs as confirmation that we had interpreted the directions correctly.
Despite the conditions a very memorable 'Great days fishing'.

Beat:Luggsbridge (B35)
Fishing:All Species (in season)
Caught a total of 3 chub and 2 barbel between 3 rods, one of which blanked. River looked to be in perfect condition despite carrying a few inches of extra water. Enjoyable day but very tiring exploring the full length available. Number of swims very limited, probably due to the extra water.
Directions and instruction excellant as always.
