Fiercely hot day, bright sun all day. Fished from 0945 until 2030. First chub (1lb) at 1000, then nothing until 1900 when sun finally started to dip. 1 barbel (8lbs 8oz) on halibut pellet and garlic sausage cocktail. Chub on pellet. Cage feeder and hair rig. Water level low but plenty of flow in the deeper water. Boat traffic not too bad and all very considerate.

Three fished. Hot and sunny so opted for afternoon and evening session. Maybe over 100 chub caught most over 3lb not much seen under this weight. We lost count as you would expect.A bite a cast. No barbel as you couldn’t get past the chub with any bait at all. Fished down the bottom end which is bit tricky to get to now so travel light. We sat on the bank off and on just enjoying the rest as we were all a bit tired to be fair. River was low with a bit of a tinge of brown still doesn’t look healthy. Meat , bread , carp pellets mostly used with some different baits to try and lure a barbel or two.
Great beat well looked after.

Only fished till 10am! Never packed in on a day out before but today was utterly awful! The fishing was just starting to look good for the day then the armada started. In 20 years of fishing the Wye i've never seen so many people in kayaks, sib, sup boards, swimming, loud music, abusive, ignorant humans.... even a polite couple that came past paddling said they weren't enjoying the day! I honestly think the days of fishing the Wye are over for me! Dreadful ????
