The Eggleston Hall Syndicate offers approximately 3.8 miles of superb fly fishing. The beat has plenty of variety and is split up into 3 beats: upper, middle and lower.

All 3 beats offer incredible fly water for salmon, with a mixture of waters types and many named salmon pools. Wading is fairly good, however, some places can be tricky especially on the lower beat. A wading staff is always advised.

The syndicate also offers superb fishing for brown trout and grayling. The Tees is a fast-rising river, so please take note of on-line rivers levels and weather forecasts for venturing out into unsettled weather, and always dress appropriately.

All the Eggleston Hall water fishes exceptionally well on the fly for trout, and faultless methods include traditional north country spiders, dry flies, and up or down stream nymphing. Streamers are also a noted method. Regarding salmon, fishing during a spate will increase your chances, but Eggleston is noted holding water for salmon and will always offer the opportunity of a catch. Dark red shrimp patterns on low water doubles or copper tubes and coneheads are amazingly effective. Fishing with a 9ft or 9ft6in line rating #4 or #5 is the perfect choice of rod for trout, and for salmon, a 10ft 7wt or a 12ft/13ft double handed rod will be ideal. Many of the pools carry depth, so a variety of tips and sinking fly lines will give an advantage.

Access is easy throughout this beat for the top and middle beat, but it requires a walk to access the lower.
