Llyn Melynllyn (Yellow Lake) is on the edge of the Carneddau range of mountains in Snowdonia. It lies at a height of just over 2000 feet (610m) and has an area of some 18½ acres (75,000 m2)

The lake contains brown trout, the majority of the fish are small, up to ½lb but some larger specimen, up to 2lb can be caught. Traditional flies work best and seasonal patterns fished just below the surface can produce excellent sport in the right conditions. The lake is in a mountainous region of north Wales and weather conditions can change rapidly, if fishing alone it is advisable to make sure someone knows where you are.
