There were two of us fishing; both with the fly. Some rain overnight; the water was coloured.
Found the wading difficult/deep in the area of the Tail of Rock pool as advised in the instructions.
Had lunch in the fishing hut. Unable to make the gas stove work. Too much rubbish on the ground around the Hut.

A high lightly coloured river that rose at first then slowly fell. Rain and wind. Late in the afternoon a smattering of LBD and Olives tempted a few trout to rise but continuous high water has not given this spring the best of starts.

Very early in the season and no sign of trout moving in the margins. It was a windy day, too, so casting was challenging. I used a deep wet fly (leech type lure) but had no takes on either the lower or upper llyn. Nevertheless, on my first visit to this beautiful location, I had a delightful day and will visit again.

One nice 8" Brownie. Caught on a grammus nymph.
Water very coloured am, started to clear pm. Levels look normal.
Some modest hatches of upwing species mostly blue winged dunn(?) afternoon. Fish starting to rise for them.
I expect a good evening session, but unfortunately not for me. Beautiful stream. Easy wading. Great directions.
