River 1.2m at Lydbrook and coloured. Total fish is between two of us and roughly split evenly. Fish came to various hard baits and most came during early afternoon in bright sunshine, the evening saw the bites tail off completely. Two of the Barbel on flaotfished 8mm cubes of meat which was a first combined with a PB Wye chub (over 5lb) and a PB Barbel (10lb 1oz) made this another cracking day. Cant wait to get back on this stretch.

A very peaceful and wild river, fly fishing on gold headed pheasant nymph, got a small brownie and a small grayling. Lovely location, river was very clean and healthy, lots of fish fry, insect life, with a kingfisher for company.

6 decent trout up to 14" (ie. nothing big), around middle of the day, on PTN (duo), mostly from runs. Little if any rise/hatch, and no evening rise. High-ish flows but clear water. A bright and beautiful day on this scenic beat.

Began the day scraping the first frost from my windscreen and arrived at the river in bright sunshine so not the most favourable conditions. Did not have a bite until one o’clock when I found fish feeding under the far bank. Nine Chub and a Barbel all on float fished meat. A lovely stretch of well maintained river, many thanks to the owners and the foundation

4 x BT on wet flies fished down and across. River went up and down a couple of times. As per information package wading became tricky in the upstream beats. Lovely scenery though and I can see the potential for migratory fish . Will definitely visit again.
