3 trout caught on the fly, all in excellent condition, weighing roughly the same approximately 2lb

Two brown trout on Diawl bach fly approx 3/4 pound each… both safely returned.

Myself and grandson went fishing today. He is 11 years of age and just started fishing. My grandson caught the two trout fishing worm on the bottom. I didn’t catch anything and for an 11 year old who I’m trying to introduce to fishing it was great.
Better him than me. He hasn’t let me forget it all day.

This is the first time we’ve caught anything or had a bite in the last three visit to Usk Reservoir and until today we were very disappointed. I hope he is still interested and wants to go back.

A red letter day. Started fishing at 6.45am. Nothing happening for 3 hours and then bang. By the time I finished at 2.30pm managed to bag 8 barbel and one small chub. Best fish 10 1/2 lb with the reminder between 6lb and 9lb. All taken with pellet presented with a mesh feeder. On this occasion I chose the top end of the fishery. I only got back into fishing this season after decades of being away. I doubt whether I will ever repeat such a day.

Lively 10lb slightly coloured cock fish. on Usk Grub. Swam strongly away on release. Two more takes but didn’t stay on.

Nothing caught

Arrived at 5pm and a few rises around the upper bridge pool. Stayed until 7pm and had to depart.
A stunning beat with lots of options.
Tried olive emerger, Perdigon nymph and nothing happening for me. I will return. Highly recommended.
