Chub all day then finally a barbel around 7.30 in the evening, all on m at and pellets.

Was on a small French nymph with pink.

Started the day out of the woods on the faster water with no bites coming. Had 2 chub from "the banker swim" the one up stream from the house swim. Ended the day on the house swim and had 1 perch.

Arrived at the beat at 1pm and met by the owner who was very helpful. Managed 8 fish to a dry para Adams before the river rose and coloured up at 4.30pm and cut short my day. I was looking forward to the evening rise. Never mind, that's fishing for you!

Barbel in excellent condition weights of 5,to just short of 9 with most in the 7 to 8lb bracket biggest at exactly 10lb also lost 2 in snags

Windy initially but calmed later and sunny. A nice day. Fished The V don through to Vanstone, no bites no fish but after lunch a couple showed. For those that use it the what3words for the picnic bench at the parking is

Slow morning roving the middle / top section in strong winds and drizzle with only a couple of chub. Mid day trotting with meat also difficult due to the wind with just a couple more chub for my efforts. Settled in one swim for the evening and put a good bed of hemp and pellet out with the bait dropper and it was an action packed three hours with 6 wonderful barbel up to 9lbs and a couple of bonus chub.

Both on dry fly. One very small but the other OK for such a small stream.
