River was low and clear which made it hard to get bites during sunny spells. Bites came when light was low. Fished several spots on this lovely fishery and found a spot which has clearly not been fished too many times and thats where we found some fish. All fish came from this spot. Biggest barbel just over 8 pounds. Some swims definitely require a rope which I will bring next time. Lovely looking stretch and many interesting swims. Most fish came to big chunks of spam. Lovely beat and requires work and thinking to get bites but rewarding once you find fish and crack the code.

First time fishing this section, the river was very low and the air temperature had dropped. Parking was very close to the river and pretty easy to find. Started at the top of section catching plenty of small chubb to 2lb. Worked our way down the section and found the bigger chub with fish to 4 and 5lb. And then two barbel one around 4lb and a very low lean fish that weighed 7lb 10.

Water very low and clear, mainly used feeder or bomb. Throwing it down with rain most of the morning. Tried various tactics re feeding or not as the case may be to no avail. Just the one Chub, nice one at about 4lb. I think I was at too shallow a swim but couldn't be bothered to move due to the rain! Next time I will try further up the beat where it looks deeper and slower.

Not a nice day weather wise. Windy, wet and cold at times. Not many fish rising. We fished only dry flies and had quite a few chances and fish on but never brought one to hand.

We arrived early to be greeted by torrential rain, which thankfully subsided after a while. Water was at a really good height, and allowed us to wade for long sections of the Beat, but we were hindered by extensive amounts of weed, which meant constantly cleaning flies and leaders almost every other cast. It needs a good wash through.
Weighted nymphs were most successful, the majority of fish coming from the faster sections of the Beat. All were a good size, all healthy, and all safely released.

Significant change of weather overnight with temperature 10C lower than the previous day. The river was still very low and clear. Rain came all morning making the banks slippy and moving around difficult, so thankful for the ropes on many pegs. Fished a number of pegs in the morning using various pellets, but not could find a bite. Eventually changed to a large piece of meat and dropped the bait off the end of my rod tip. Bait was only about 20ft from the rod, so bites when they came were dramatic! Had 4 barbel in the period noon - 4pm, then nothing more. Largest barbel when 9lb 7oz, the others all over 7lb.
The other fish was a small chublet. I did also manage to catch a minnow that had got it's head stuck in one of the holes on a feeder. He lived to fight another day!
