Weather hot and sunny, though the river was carrying a tinge of colour that helped. Fished from the car park to the top beat limit. Checked the lower half of the fishery and must agree with other anglers comments that it is virtually unfishable due to the overgrown banks and lack of accessible swims. I would not recommend this fishery to anyone a bit unsteady on their feet.Majority of fish caught on meat with a couple of Chub on pellet.

A frustrating day. Despite the talk of cut out swims etc access to the river was very difficult and it took 2 hrs to find a way down to the water. Once fishing it was slow due to the hot sunny weather. The day was somewhat ruined by the landowner cutting down trees and chucking them in the river just upstream of our spots. I had to abandon fishing the swim I had been baiting all day as a constant deluge of branches and logs at dusk made fishing impossible. Given anglers have much better access on the far bank, don't feel we got value for money.

We had 5 Barbel to 8.75lb and 12 chub to 5lb and an eel. We fished in the weir pool section which has a flat stoney beach type area of about 40m wide. The weather was warm and sunny with little wind and river had moderate to slow flow. The fish mostly came from the far left upstream section about 10 feet out towards the far wall. Took everything on a hair rigged 12mm halibut pellet with a 3oz open ended feeder. If you have a 4x4 you can drive right up to this section of the river otherwise its a fair walk. If we return to the Wye will would 100% go back to this beat.

Water was very low and clear but arrived early afternoon to see plenty of rising fish.
One trout and grayling pretty quickly in the faster water but the others would just disappear when we got close. We could see the shoals of Grayling swimming around in the deeper channels but no interest.
Best fish of the day came from just downstream of where the small stream enters the river, a nice fat 20 inch trout.
After 3 o’clock it started to get quiet with only one more trout and grayling. Hooked and lost another 8-10 though.
Odd that even though the river was very low there were a lot more little side streams running then we’ve seen before. Saw the usual kingfishers and dippers and an excellent day to be outside. Thanks very much

Frustrating day as cloud cover did not materialise so got cooked watching a stationary quiver tip. Main swim produced one bite but the fish found a snag after a few minutes and that was the end of the barbel action . A late move to the faster water brought 3 chub and 1 eel. If only I had moved earlier? River looked off colour( brownish tinge) and where are the swallows and swifts this year? All fish caught on curried meat .

Abernant gauge was showing 0.25 and falling after a mid week rise. Easier to fish at these levels but wading still tricky. I was able to fish from the middle island up the lower pools which made fishing easier. 6 Grayling all very similar size 10 to 12 inches on a Black magic nymph on Tenkara rod. Plenty rising in one of the lower slow pools but I could not tempt them on dries so went back to the nymph.

Blisteringly hot day, river low and still falling, but with a tinge of colour still left in. Top section, above orchard totally unfishable and couldn't see a way through in orchard stretch. One swim by top orchard car park, the rest in the first meadow below the orchard - which is perhaps why these are showing signs of being over fished.
Fished 2 of the 5 swims in this meadow (09.30-16.30)and had a barbel in each (one at midday, 5lb, the other at 15.00, 6lb). Both fell to small piece of garlic meat with feeder fed groundbait, meat and pellet. Plenty of knocks in both swims on meat but presumably small stuff. No activity at all on pellet, no matter what size or flavour.
