.Beautiful day, warm, mild breeze and some cloud, river good height and colour and flow. What went wrong? No hatch to speak of with few upwings. No rising fish. Failed with nymphs, spiders, emergers.

Around a dozen trout between 2 anglers best around a pound. Cold,wet,windy in the morning clearing mid afternoon.
A brief hatch of something unseen(we guessed buzzers) had the trout rising and a handful caught on small black dries.
The rest on wets.

Fished late p.m and evening. Abundant flylife (mostly mayfly) for time after arrrival, but only spasmodic rises. Rose eight and hooked, but lost, two on mayfly, the last of which felt like a good fish.

fished three of the pools Rectory, rock and mill.Caught 1 shad Rectory, didn't see a fish until I was about to leave then for some reason there were salmon rising every where . May be after Friday if forecast is correct
