I've never caught on my three previous visits to this beat. It's so picturesque here I booked it again for a first-time visiting guest. He said it 'was perhaps the most beautiful place I have ever been'.... skunked again.

Great day on a dropping river. Still some colour though. All the fish caught on pellet and feeder.

Made the walk over the hill, inviting swims but no bites. Back to meadow by house. 1 for me but plenty for chap opposite bank to house fishing in fast water grrr!

The two of us fished 4 days this week (21st, 22nd, 24th, 25th). River started high and coloured on the first day, and dropped throughout the week. Had to work hard to find the Barbel, but managed 8 between the two of us on the last day, with the largest 8lb 4oz. We were lucky with the conditions and had a very enjoyable week, and hopefully will be able to come again one day.

One trout on dry fly no action until later in day. Great River and location.

Not the greatest or safest of access but lots of small barbel about.

7.00am start. Water very clear and sky bright ... well on my way to a blank at 11.00 and needed to leave for home when I got an attack of one last cast syndrome which paid off! A brownie of 1lb 3oz caught on a beaded hares ear using tenkara gear. Fast water, decent fish and 2lb leader on a fixed line length ... now that was fun :)
