Just a short session of around 3 hours from 1 pm. Weather mild but strong gusting wind with intermediate heavy showers. River conditions looked good with good flow/levels and colour but a lot of leaf debris constantly interfering with presentation. Had two takes on first two cast first one came unstuck almost immediately second produced a small barbel of around 5 lb then no further action.

Upon arrival at the river the flow was just ripping through so dropped in the few areas we could but called it a day after a couple of hours.

Confused & disappointed with this be beat. The map does not show a weir a third of the way up the beat (next to where you park your car). As there appears to be no foot access for this top section & the river is fenced closely on both sides it appears you can only fish the main section of the beat if you are prepared to enter the weir pool. This is about 3 - 4 feet deep before you sink in to the silt. Maybe a 6'6" guy may be happy with this but for me at 5' 5" & the water going over the weir only 10' away this does not seem a very sensible option. The bottom part of the beat is great but would not fish this beat again.
WUF Note: Our apologies that the map did not show the correct location on the weir. We have now updated the details.

Disaster! Hoped to get 4-5 hours trotting before the river coloured and levels raised. After one hour the river was up 30 centimeters and was well coloured. In that hour three grayling 7-14 inches and three oos trout 6-9 inches were keen for maggots, then away they went sheltering from the amount of debris passing through the fishery. Did try a few slacker areas but nothing interested at all with my offerings.

Only ended up fishing for a couple of hours following a long drive and exploring the beat for the first time. Luke caught a pike just over 9lbs.
