Lovely stretch with the gardens opposite. Fishing was tough with the river needing some rain but still managed a few fish.

Fished lower fields pm. Lovely afternoon with river slightly coloured and falling after previous day's rain. Bank newly fenced with some good access points - thanks. 1 tiny parr and 4 well-conditioned trout of about 9 inches on nymphs. I'm catching more parr than ever - all over - good sign! Thanks to W & U and owners for this lovely stretch. Wish there was a more direct way we could show our appreciation.................... I attended the November excursion, last year, with my wife to prove I really do go fishing on my escape days! Met some landowners there and wish there could be more of this. How about a W & U Association with other 'socials'?

2 bream only today - lake still one of the better stillwater venues with much potential for those who are prepared and able to make regular visits - really needs to be fished more to really unlock the potential of this lovely water.
The assistance received from the WUF staff is much appreciated.

Weird day, plenty of fly on water other than small grayling nothing coming to it. All grayling between 9-12 inches and oos trout 9-14 inches. I spotted something of size so flicked my nymph upstream then bang I struck into a very large brown trout that tore fifty yards upstream and with one huge leap spat my hook..this fish was big and I mean proper big... over 4lb big. After fishing the wild streams for years and landing trout to 16 inches this beast almost gave me a Sean coronary, brief encounter but explosive.
