After heavy rain the day before, the river had risen and coloured up slightly so we were hoping for a better day's sport. We started at the bottom of the fishery and worked our way slowly back upstream trying most of the swims. Although my mate Ben caught 1 barbel during the morning it wasn't till the afternoon that we caught any further fish. I caught my 4 barbel in the last 3 hours of the day from one of the middle swims so was a happy man in the end! Definitely a lovely stretch of water and very nicely manged too!

River in need of a good flush through, we managed 2 barbel each but it was hard going in beautiful surroundings.

Only three anglers as 4th angler feared the challenge! First time here for all of us and great sport enjoyed by all with 13 fish in total to 10.5lb, all on pellet. Fast flowing water and slippery banks to swims made it very dangerous to get to very limited swims. Cant wait to go back though!!!
One angler went home with his tail between his legs after great first day!

The river was up a touch and carrying a little colour.
However all looked good for an Autumn fishing trip.
We had a couple of Grayling around 12-14" one on a nymph one on the dry which is always a bonus.
Then the rains came, and it really did rain, which put and end to it. A nice stretch and well worth a fish.

Heavy overnight rain had caused the Clettwr to colour up the lodge side of the river, reducing visibility to about 6 inches in the water. There was also a heavy leaf fall and the occasional branch coming downstream as well. I gave it a go but with no joy. Beautiful spot though.

Rain over night gave us a dirty rising river. 7 barbel from 6 to 9lb plus 4 chub to 3lb. Feeder fished pellet & bollie catching the fish. Stan the keeper put us on to the fish. With the river rising, the top end of the fishery was the place to be, cheers Stan we would have blanked without you!

Fished 6 hours in afternoon up until dusk. Got soaked in torrential thunder storm. Had first couple of barbel early on, then the chub and another barbel came middle afternoon, strangely nothing in the last hour. Still really like this beat even though fished it quite a few times. Nice to have no cattle to contend with, not too far to walk and I seem to always get a couple of barbel so it's close becoming my favourite beat so far. Thanks WUF.
