Area:Lakes
Beat:Pant y Llyn
Fishing:Coarse
No. of Anglers:2
All the fish caught were around 30cm in length and all caught using a feeder with sweetcorn on the hook. Lots of minnows at the edge. One chub and two carp. No luck with the float/controller. Water was quite cold. The dozen horses who arrived as part of a pony trek and had a splash around in the water didn't help. I wonder what other water they splashed through given that we're cleaning our waders every visit? Lovely day, beautiful scenery.

Beat:The Rectory Fishery
Fishing:Salmon
No. of Anglers:1
A beautiful day on the Rectory. 1'4" at Llanstephan and very expectant with super clarity and cracking water. One trout of around a pound got the heart racing in the Mill stream but that was the only action of the evening. A superb beat with easy wading and very fishy pools. Until next time...

Guided for the day on the beat. Great days fishing again. It looked like the river had been up a 1m or so but had dropped back and was about 30cm up with good colour. Fished in the wooded section.
Fish fed throughout the day. Had two 8lbers with the larger one being 8lbs 15oz. Largest chub was 4lbs 6oz a new pb for customer. He hadn't caught a barbel before but now he is a converted Wye barbel fisherman. Thanks to the W&U Foundation.

Area:Usk
Beat:Glan-y-Cafn
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:2
Weather overcast and dry, good conditions, river clear. 2 Small trout to 6 inches returned. The fishing was very hard, no rises, no fish seen. We thought this beat was rather expensive in the circumstances.

Area:Usk
Beat:Penpont
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:1
A beautiful day and the river was in brilliant condition: this is a great stretch and one of the most easily fishable of the beats above Brecon. Only managed a few hours in the afternoon although it looked as if the evening would have been promising. A few flies coming off, but no rises. Two 7/8 inch trout to my nymph.

Area:Usk
Beat:Cefn Rhosan Fawr
Fishing:Trout (River)
No. of Anglers:1
Hard yards today on the Usk at Cefn Rhosan Fawr. No fish and not even a tug! Windy and water coloured after rain, but not too high. Some sporadic's hatch and some sporadic rises but nothing tempted to either wet or dry fly.
However, a nice and varied beat. I only did the bottom 1.5km so will be back to try the rest.
