Fished at top of lake from boat. 2 trout and 12 small perch on damsel and sedge nymph. All fish returned.

Having fished the Monnow 2 days prior, and having had a good walk around the area, we were based in Pandy, so decided to try the Honddu. Quite wary about cattle and was aware there was a field of them. Fortunately my husband (a non fisher) did a recce for me, and suggested I avoided them as they were bullocks and a little frisky. They only spotted me as I was exiting the field.
Thus, I did not fish that stretch but the rest of the river proved productive. All 5 fish were taken (and returned) on a mayfly emerger. Many fish rising, but the emerger also brought up many unseen fish. Missed many fish. Caught 2 at 8", 2 at 10" 1 at 12". Excellent sport. Very different river bed being gravelly and stony, unlike the Monnow which was large slabs of stone on the river bed.

5 fish on Fly c 4 of 10-12 llbs and a grilse of 5llbs which was a bit thin.

2 fish landed, 10lb and 13lb, both fresh; 2 other fish lost. All on fly. River started the day at 2ft 3" and had dropped to 2ft by end of day. Visibility was perfect for the fly.

1600-2200. Several fish showing on the beat, hooked on the fly and unfortunately lost two 8-9pm from Lady's pool. Both fish stayed deep, can't put figure on their weight. Perfect water, perfect evening. Thank you WUF.

A tough day for me on water that was in perfect order with other rods able to winkle a fish or two out. Tried alsorts and it would have been advisable to fish between 8-10pm but the drive home forced me away. Great beat which I will get a fish from. Thanks WUF.

Started off on the Lower Pool, but could only get small rudd on maggot;had no bites on sweetcorn or bread. Moved to the Top Pool in the afternoon. Spent half an hour with the rake, clearing a swim. Only had 2 rudd from here. There were a lot of fish showing in a clear spot, but could not cast to it. I think the pool needs the weed cleared before it gets too bad in the Summer.

8 browns to 10 inches. Took one. Some mayfly on water. A very absorbing, pleasant afternoon.

River absolutely in perfect condition, 1 ft on the Ganusk gauge is just right. I had 14 browns from 6in to 12in on addams dry. I fished from the bridge up river to the first pool - a nice place to fish not to difficult a bank to fish from. A nice spot is by the bridge up stream to wade out a little way so as you can cast under the trees, there are a few fish always there and all so in mid river. Can't believe there was no rain here to mess things up.

1 grayling 40+ cm, 1 trout 20+cm, flyfishing. Also I fished these voucher beats:
13.6. Pontithel, 7 trouts 10-20 cm, flyfishing
14.6. The Lower Clochfaen, saw one trout, thats all, flyfishing.
