The two of us fished all day in the hot sun for a total catch of 19 trout, mostly in the 6-11 inch bracket. One much larger trout lost when it dived into tree roots. A trickle of Mayflies were coming off most of the day and the trout were taking them.

An interesting beat with lots of lovely pools, but many of them very hard/impossible to cover because of the vegetation. The lower part of the beat in particular would benefit greatly from some futher coppicing work. Also the access at the bottom of the beat is very tricky, requiring a climb over the barbed wire, not good news in waders. A stile or gate is required.

River quite coloured with lots of fly life including Mayflies but mostly ignored by fish. Very sunny with breeze. Caught 10 trout up to 14in on dry fly.

River slightly coloured but good hatch of olives when arrived at 1pm and caught several fish straight off including nicely marked specimen of 1lb+. Mayflies on water but fish not really interested and nothing of note during the afternoon. Weather warm & sunny with a breeze which dropped early evening and by 7pm classic Mayfly rise as I stood in the river surrounded by duns and spinners. The bigger fish just gently sipped my fly...there it was gone! Left at 10pm with fish still rising. Lost count of total catch but over 20......several good fish with best 1.5lbs. One of those magic evenings!

Looked liked a perfect day in lovely surroundings. Slightly overcast with light wind. Excellent variation in waters but not a rise all day from 11am to 7pm despite many hatches of flies of many types.
Fished most styles but only had a couple of tiddlers on gold PTN while fishing Klinkhammers on the dropper.

Not sure why so little trout activity but very nice place to spend the day.

A cloudy sky and plenty of mayfly made for a good days fishing. Fourteen trout were caught on either Iron Blue or a light brown Klnkhammer, all fish were returned.

Could have been a sea trout, or a very good wild brown trout, or even a stocked brown from elsewhere on the river. Either way, it was a monster. Actually, two monsters, one about 2lb and the other even bigger at 2.5lb. Nothing all morning and then half a dozen, including the two lunkers, in one pool, one after the other within a 30min span. Could have been the weighted nymph (which I subsequently lost up a tree), or the sun which peaked through, the time of day, or just pure luck. As luck would have it, nothing for rest of day but what thrill to catch and release the two monsters. Fantastic.

5 brown trout caught, 3 at 10 - 12 inches and 2 smaller ones. All caught on Adams or Greenwells dry. One fish taken, judging by the colour of its flesh, it was one of the stocked brown trout. Very few fish rising and only a small hatch of mayfly. Acces to river quite difficult in places with undergrowth and steep banks. Overall though, a great stalking afternoon of watching and casting, just what trout fishing should be like.
