5 x trout 8-12 inches. I arrived late afternoon, but still very hot with bright, blazing sun, and nothing happened till after 8 in the evening. A few taken - and quite a few more missed - on a Little Dark Watchet spider fished through the runs.

Water still .55m and clear. Fished for trout throughout beat. John had 4 on the spiders but none for me until late on when there was a large mayfly hatch and landed 2 at 1lb 9oz and another at 1lb 4 oz. The latter was kept as gills damaged.
John landed 7 on the spiders from 6oz to 1lb 4 oz. All returned
Silly season has just started!!

A beautiful day on a beautiful river – challenging fishing though and only managed one wbt and one grayling of any size all day. Both on goldhead PTN.

One of those days when it is good just to be alive. The sun shone all day but a breeze kept us comfortable. We fished all day long for very little reward - I think I took 3, my companion 0. There was very little rising inspite of the huge mayfly hatch and was 8ish by the time we'd walked back along the road to the car. I had a last peek over the bridge and noticed a couple of rises. "Couple more casts won 'urt" I thought..From 8.30 until dusk we filled our boots!

2 rods 8'#4 and a 8'6"#4. a lot(9) of small fish(trout) all under 6" were taken. My wife caught 4 of them. Near the railway bridge on the lower beat I caught a nice grayling about 16" on a Phaesant Tail Nymph. Most of the fish we caught were taken on GRHE, I even caught a chub 8" on a Hare's ear spider.

6 x trout. Olive klinkhammer. All returned in good condition. The stock proof fence by the ford isn't and is clearly breached by sheep.

Clear skies and 25 degrees of heat, a perfect day to be fishing but not necessarily to catch fish.

A few mayfly were hatching and four trout were caught to ten inches using an Iron Blue. All fish were returned.
