Nil caught. Lovely warm weather and a pleasure to fish the river. Access was difficult in places as others have commented. The river was quite coloured which was surprising given the recent hot weather. A few mayflies were about and some pond skater type insects. The fish however showed no interest with no rises seen all day. All in all a bit disappointing.

A wonderful day on the Lugg. Nice beat to keep you busy for the day. Mayfly were everywhere but possibly as I'd never fished in Mayfly season or inexperience (or just the hot weather), I only managed some missed bites and the fish snapping my line. (I'm sure that one was a monster trout).
Friend had same experience with one nice trout and quite a few missed bites.
Day was saved by landing my biggest ever grayling at the end of the day (about 2 1/2 - 2 3/4 pounds)on a tiny ptn. All lots of fun on a 3 weight rod.
In short, nice beat would go back.

Fished this beat for grayling last winter and had a great couple of days. Always wanted to return in the summer months for some trout fishing. I fished with my father in law Steve Cox. We both hit into fish very early on fishing the Klink and Dink, i had 3 knocks and a fish to the net in the first ten mins. As the sun came over head it got a bit harder, but just meant we had to search the water for fish. We fished until 15:00 and had 6 fish between us.

A hot summers day spent on a beautiful stretch of the Usk! The fishing was generally hard going, the hot, bright weather seemingly putting the fish off feeding. Final tally was around 20 fish between the two of us, largest around 0.75lbs. Stayed on till 2220 in the hope of a bumper spinner fall but unfortunately it wasn't too be! Oh well, still a wonderful day.

Nothing moving. No sign of any fish at all. Not a sausage. Fantastic location though and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Will go back.

As the time before, my wife and I shared one rod, but this time starting at the bridge. Starting with the same rod 7' #3. Long leader about 10'. Partidge and Orange spider on one dropper, the other dropper was a Grouse and Yellow and on the point again a gold beaded GRHE. The first two cast brought us a 9" trout. in total we caught 4 trout as the smallest as 6". All were taken on all three flies.
