My wife and I fished the R. Honddu sharing one rod. Starting at the beat start, fishing a 7' rod #3 weight.
Fished upstream and stoped at the bridge. We landed 1 trout only aprox. 7-8". We started of with 2 spiders on the droppers and beaded GRHE. In total we caught 5 trout wich were below 7".

I think my return may have vanished into the ether, so I've done it again. Owing to transport difficulties I put vouchers into 13 beat box and walked part way down stream to fish back up to bridge. Two wbt 8 and 11 inches returned. Mosquito dry. Very hot day but v enjoyable.

Beat:The Hindwell - Combe Beat

Fishing:Trout (River)

Upon arrival at 9am the weather & water looked in first class condition, but it was obvious the stream had been in very heavy flood for a long time. It had risen over 5 feet! We fished from the downstream end and worked our way up. There was much fly activity on the water including waterboatmen, water skaters and clouds of black gnats. Not once did we see any rises or signs of fish activity throughout the day! We tried many dry/wet/nymph/buzzer/shrimp variations along and under tree obstructions, overhanging banks ets but to no avail. We finished fishing at 4pm with 'dry nets'. A beautiful location but disappointing days fishing!

One possible take from Lady's pool, no other salmon to report. As usual, two hours with trout rod resulted in 5 oos good size grayling and 4 trout up to 14". Plenty of shad on the beat, few Lampreys gave me a bit a fright but great day out overall. Thank you!

Beat:Monnow - Upper Longtown

Fishing:Trout (River)

No. of Anglers:1

A very hot day but most of the beat is shaded which was a relief. 14 WBT to 13 inches and many more raised but missed/ lost. Fish looing up at last and majority fell to drowned hawthorn sitting in the surface film. Odd mssive green drake seen with a few yellow mays. Fish will sitch onto them as hatches intensify. A lot of may nymphs seen in the detrius. These fsh are in good condition and punch above their weight.
Superb days fishing in superb surroundings! Wish it was closer to home!
