Didn't fish this beat in the end due to confusion with the booking. I made a last minute on-line booking at 10.30 pm the night before and only then found out that I needed to contact the owner a day before fishing. (The beat description didn't mention this.) As I was unable to contact the owner at such short notice, I booked and fished Lower Hill Court instead. Contacted WUF the day after and they were very understanding, agreed to amend the beat description to reflect the need to contact the owner a day before and issued me a refund. This was excellent and professional service and I have no complaints. I will continue to book via WUF as the fishing is excellent.

Very strong downstream wind made any upstrem method very difficult. None the less a nice stretch of river.

Very windy day. Water low, cristal clear. Hardly any fish risen all day. Caught a tiny WBT on pheasant nymp and a better one lost. C&R. Spotted 2 massive trouts /3-4 lbs/ at the upper end of the beat in a deep pool. Booking easy, lady was very helpful on the phone.

I found this a tough beat, lots of foliage to get snagged on and stream bed not easy to wade, mainly small boulders. Despite the difficult casting not helped by a upstream gusting wind I managed to hook three small WBT and landed one, all on small Adams drys.

A really enjoyable day, all three taken on black buzzer but very few fish showing. A very lovely beat, actually saw two kingfishers and a red kite. Will definitely be giving it a try later in the season for a grayling.

Lovely stretch of the Wye (isnt all of it though!) and the fishing is not bad either. Started on the usual feeder tactics to locate and fish and found a few so set up the trotting rod and caught some by trotting down the long run.
There is a huge amount of canoe traffic here as there is a pub/picnic stop just where you park up so the flotilla of boats after lunch can be quite annoying. Having said that all of the canoes were respectful of me fishing (the ones that could steer anyway) and it didn't really effect the fishing.
All in all a great day.
