No fish caught. Nevertheless river looked good. Thank you.

Tougher day than last weeks bonanza...cold downstream breeze didn't help. Ten fish between us, all to the goldhead nymph fished below the dry.

Fished during middle of the day in (warmish?) sunlight. Caught 4 brown trout, one a decent size (up to a lb). 3 trout on a dry fly (klinkhammer, black with grizzle hackle, around size 12/14) and one on a wet teal and black. Parked at the top as the road is deteriorating again, but others there risk the potholes and their suspension.

Got to the river early to have an introduction to it and found it unfishable. Chatted to the guys in the office later and offered me a wash-off if things didn't improve by lunchtime. Soldiered on became fishable around late afternoon but could only attempt wild browns. 3 returned around the 1.5lbs mark. Other rod looked at the water and went home!

1 trout caught + returned.

15 brown trout between 2 rods - up to 14" and all returned.

River in flood so fishing was pretty difficult. No fish caught.

I caught 3 small grayling of about 6-7 inches and 2 trout: one of about 9 inches and the other, a good fish of about 13 inches. All fish safely returned. They were all caught on hare's ear nymphs except one of the Grayling on PTN. All action in the slack just beside a couple of streamy pool necks towards the top of the beat.

No trout caught. No takes. Although another angler reported catching fish.
A cold spring day on this nice stretch of water that has some good pools but with very few flies hatching today.

Gave it a go but the river was probably still a little high and coloured. A small hatch around lunchtime, but no fish seen or caught
