Fished for 2 hours after JP had left. He had done well in the Wood Stream, 4 to 1.5lbs on spiders. I caught all my fish at Rocks and especially at Upper Rocks on Waterhen Bloas. Lost count, 7-8 salmon smolts and parr and brownies to just under 1lb.

Had a cracking day on this lovely beat. Conditions were far from perfect with a strong downstream wind blowing at times. When this dropped down and the sun shone this normally triggered a hatch of LDO. The fish seemed switched onto these much more than any other fly and it's not surprising given the amount that was coming off. I caught between 20 and 30 fish all on a size 14 Adams Parachute apart from three caught on a GRHE with an orange butt(duo). The best fish went to about 1 3/4 lb. The hatches stopped around 4pm along with the best of the fishing.
Anyone looking for an easier wading option than some of the more bedrock type beats should give this one a go. Although I did manage to get a soaking due to my own stupidity.

Early morning start and by midday with nothing showing was beginning to think it was going to be another normal fishless day. Then - just as my mate popped down on a quick visit a fish takes (red flying c). Had to hang on and let it take line for a while. Eventually the fish tires and then we realised that it would not fit into my 24 inch Gye net. My mate jumped in and managed to lift the fish out. 40 inches of mighty Wye springer with a real deep body. Later in the day (7.30pm) another take and another big fish is on. It was certainly a similar size to the first (if not bigger). Could not beleive it when after about 10 minutes the hook pulls out - talk about being gutted. Thanks to AT who was also fishing the beat for standing by with the net. Hope you connect with something similar on your next visit.

Fished from 1.45 to 5pm and managed 10 trout and 2 grayling. Mostly in the 9 to 12 inch range but one trout and one grayling went 16 inches. There was a good rise to a hatch of olives as I arrived but it went quiet at about 4pm. A pleasant few hours dry fly fishing.

Not much colour after that bit of rain but with overcast sky and light drizzle I was hoping for the best! Arrived to find that someone had beaten me to it but thought that, after an hours drive and the prospect of a lot further west to go to find another beat, what the heck? Waited an hour and trundled up river with Gold headed Elk under a Black gnat, the Parr obliged (2) as did the Chub (4), (their back), but nothing of any size or intelligence!

2 rods 11 brown trout, beautiful fish and location. Blue and black zulus. Perhaps a little to early in season as water very cold and start of track blocked by deep snow. Hope to return in Summer. Online beat booking service outstanding. Thank you.

A mostly cloudy day, a bit of rain and a couple of sights of the sun. Several hatches through day, fished 11-5. Caught and returned 5 brown trout, two over a pound, on various olive drys, with one earlier in the day on a PTN.
