This exclusive half a mile plus Beat on the river Usk is a truly hidden gem. It is located 15 miles from the market town of Abergavenny and 7 miles from the market town of Crickhowell. It offers excellent salmon pools and long trout runs with good flows - this is superb river Usk fishing and the beat feels very private with easy access and nice open sections. Wading is easy with the riverbed being a mixture of silt and gravel, however anglers are warned that there are some very deep pools with potentially quite strong flows. The banks are very steep in places therefore anglers are advised to know their entry/exit points to ensure they take care when wading.
Please note that during the summer months a bull may be present in the field used to access the fishery. Please bear this in mind should you decide to book.
New owners have made several large improvements and are continuing to do so throughout the summer of 2026 – they have established a secure graveled parking area, created styles, installed signs naming each pool and the Beat now benefits from full access to the main pools. The owners reserve the right to fish therefore exclusivity of the Beat cannot be guaranteed
Professional Fishing Instructor/Guides can only operate on this fishery if booking a rod for themselves in addition to the client(s). Anyone found not adhering to this will be asked to leave the fishery immediately.
