Weather very changeable alternating between showers and sunshine. Caught a dozen fish the best being an 11" WBT. Succeeded with a mixture of a small dry caddis and a Jon Barnes (Onstreamguide) rainbow beaded flash back caddis nymph. Water was very low but enough to entertain. Lower end of beat before the rocks was best. Used a 5wt 9' rod.

River at about 8" on the Llanstephan Gauge, bit low, but overall it fished really well. Fished the Rocks a couple of days before and took all fish on dries. Today all fish were taken on nymphs. What a difference 2 days and 10 miles makes and this makes wild fishing so challenging and enjoyable. Fish caught throughout the beat, plenty of decent grayling to 15" and one very angry wbt of around 14".

Fished from 8.30 till 5 Difficult day, very bright and a gusting wind which couldn't make up it's mind where it was coming from. Started off on french leader, taking 2 tiny, 4 ins, grayling. Some fish rising so switched to a dry, parachute adams, had another 3 grayling, 10 and 13 ins. As sun got higher the fish went in to hiding, and didn't show again until the sun dipped behind the trees on the far bank. Switched to spiders and had another 3 grayling, biggest about 12 ins. Missed a fair few takes and released a few at distance. Also had a good few fish rise to the dry, but miss it completely.
I lost an absolute stonker at the net, reckon it would have been pushing 3lb. It will haunt me in my dreams.
A lovely beat, I spent a good hour or so watching the wildlife. Nuthatch, yellow wagtail, dipper, and a pair of egrets.

Perfect day for fishing overcast and light winds. Fished a team of spiders but with a size 16 gold head hares ear on the point.

Six wbt and three grayling, best grayling about a pound and a half best brown just over a pound. Best area the deeper water at the bottom of the beat.

Conditions perfect, except for bright sun. Less visible activity than I had expected, and it definitely slowed later in the afternoon and did not pick up towards evening. Two trout to dry (size 16 duck's dun) and two to nymph, and a 14" grayling on the dry. We both lost very good fish (Trout).
