Although conditions looked good with river at 2'4" and temperature about 7deg fish the two of us only managed a fish each; both to small nymphs with a touch of pink. I expect there were more fish around but didn't make contact with any of them.

A hard day from start to finish. River 3-4 feet up coupled with a STRONG downstream wind meant despite fishing alot of swims trying to find the fish .... 2 blanks for us. I didn't come close to catching, but my friend Paul lost a fish from some pacey water behind a rock. Looking forward to our next trip where hopefully we can catch a few.

Another great day although very, very cold. Struggled with rods icing up until midday but managed 12 grayling and 6 oos trout to trotted maggot from the Stone Catch area between the 2 of us. Great venue in stunning surrounding with an abundance of wildlife. We will be back again soon.

19 x grayling 6-16 inches, 10 x out of season trout 7-14 inches, trotting. This beat has been fished fairly hard over the weekend, but I had a wash-off in the bank so I thought I would give it a go. 18 inches on the gauge. Cold showers to begin; sunny later. A salmon kelt was wallowing and dying in the shallows with the characteristic white fungus. Eventually I cut the session short after lunch due to post-spawning trout which seemed to be all over the place.

Fished with Roger Smith of Malvern. Had a slow morning but got into the Grayling after lunch and had over 60 fish between us on maggot from Stone Catch. Biggest Grayling 16". River very low and clear. Cold day with blue skies and very light breeze. Work on access point much appreciated.

I chose a guided day as I had not fished this area before and I wanted to see how the experts went about it. The river was clear and not too high. After an hour trotting with maggots we hadn't found the fish, so moved downstream where we found them. Caught a few grayling with trotting tackle, then switched to weighted flies on a short line which produced a couple of takes but none in the net. Oliver introduced me to a Tenkara rod, and this with an indicator and single maggot proved most effective. The grayling were from 6-15 inches and in fine condition, also one oos wbt. Thanks to Oliver Burch and WUF for a great day on this lovely beat.

River clear but flowing strongly when we arrived about 09:30am. Temp below freezing. The ice in the margins didn't melt all day and it was still below freezing when we called it a day when the sun dipped below the hills. The grayling are there as other catch reports confirm but we were not minded to risk kamikaze wading to get into a position to fish the deeper holes where we suspect they lay. Two rises seen in the midday burst of sunshine but we mainly stuck to deep nymphs with little success. One oos brownie obliged and a shoal of grayling rewarded with three hook ups but only one to hand. On the margins temperature wise for us older chaps to be deep wading. time to invest in a trotting rod!

Two of us worked very hard from about 10am for 4 small grayling and a wee brownie. No obvious explanation for this meagre return given C K's impressive 22 grayling on Saturday. All fish took a red tag during a 1 hour period after lunch.

A good day’s fishing, my first time on this beat. Water looked fairly low and clear. Didn’t start fishing until 11.30am but caught from the off. Grayling mostly around 9 inches, with the biggest at 11 inches and a few 5 inch juveniles. Also caught a couple of OOS brownies of 8 and 9 inches. Used a French leader tipped with two tungsten beaded nymphs. Czech nymphs and PTNs with copper, gold and white beads all scored. The catch rate tapered off after the first hour, it was then necessary to move around and pick off fish here and there. Didn’t have time to fully explore the beat so a good justification to return again.
