Lovely stretch with the gardens opposite. Fishing was tough with the river needing some rain but still managed a few fish.

Tough day. River low and cold with good clarity mixed with bright conditions seemingly put all but 1 barbel into a hunger strike! We tried multiple swims and trotted both bread and pellet and the usual static fishing. On reflection it may have been worth taking a few pints of maggots but sometimes you get days where you just need to soak up the sun instead.

Nice location, unfortunately the barbel and chub were playing hide and seek and we lost. did manage a perch to about 1.5 lbs and a minnow lol. Big thanks to the farmer for the taxi service as the walk to the bank would be quite daunting with out him.

Both barbel were about 6lb and the 3 chub were about 3lb all caught on pellet. It just a shame that only half the stretch you pay for is fish able due to the deeper section being totally over grown and not accessible without a strimmer to open up the swims. It was a bit of a let down really and it's not the cheapest day ticket on the Wye and you would expect for the money you pay, for all the swims to be cut back a bit and fishable!!!

Second time on this beat and expected a better return but bright skies seemed to kill it. CH had 3 late on from the beach area and I had 1 at 7.00pm with my last cast while packing up. The fish ranged from 6 to 8.6 lb.

Arrived at this stretch at 0900 and chose to walk to the Weir trust area. Conditions were bright with the river carrying a little colour.
Fishing was slow throughout the day until mid afternoon when we started to steadily catch. All fish fell to pellet feeder and 12mm hybrid hookbaits, barbel to 9,1/4 lb, chub to 5,1/2 lb. All fish were in top condition and as usual very hard fighting. We found that fish location was key on this stretch.

Arrived at LC bridge at 0900hrs and having walked the upper and middle stretch once again chose to fish the faster water opposite the walled area. Fish came slow and steady throughout the day although the barbel seemed to be grouped in specific areas and only became active from mid to late afternoon onwards.
Three of the barbel were over 9 lb with the biggest falling to my brothers rod and at 9 lb 14 oz provided him with a PB (so close to his first double..!). The biggest chub went 6 lb 8oz and was the deepest fattest chub I have ever seen, also a pb for me. All the fish fell to pellet feeder tactics with a variety of different hookbaits used.
The river was more coloured than the previous day with increased flow. Conditions were cloudy with sunny spells.
All in all a really enjoyable day on the beautiful river Wye, we will definitley be returning. Once again many thanks to WUF.

Had a good day on a new beat which we were expecting to find slow as we did not know the areas that produced.
Arrived at lunchtime and met Mr Richards who we must say thank you again to. His taxi service is something even us younger and fitter anglers were glad that we utilised! We would urge anyone fishing this beat to take advantage of this and he is a lovely chap as well.
We got down to the river and walked the stretch. We fancied the upstream part of the beat in the faster water. We rolled some meat to start with and had 2 chub and 1 barbel. We finally settled in a swim on pellet and bomb and began to pick of barbel steadily all evening.
This is a lovely beat with great views of the garden opposite although this could be busy and loud during the summer months and weekends. Will definitely be back!!
