Top end of the beat is very pretty with great views of the weir gardens and excellent access, with the lower end proving a bit tricky to get to.
I lost a couple of fish to the large weedbeds they were hiding under, even on stepped up floodwater tackle but managed to land 5 Barbel and 7 Chub. All fish were taken on standard feeder tactics with hemp, mixed pellet and groundbait.

5 Barbel, 7 Chub

Low water levels. Sunny and warm day. Feeder fishing. Dawn produced most bites/fish. Beautiful stretch of river. Thank you.

3 Barbel, 3 Chub

Second day ever on the Wye. Much better than the previous day but fished the same way! Fish weights were approx 4lb for the chub and 6lb for the barbel.

5 Barbel, 1 Chub

First day ever on the Wye. No fish were caught, tried various methods and swims but no luck this time.

1st time on this beat and although on the water for 7 hrs spent most of the time exploring and pre-baiting. Had a baited hook in the water for about 1 hr in the end. 1 barbel of approx 7/8 lbs landed plus another ripping bite which ended in the hook being thrown after about 10 secs. Beautiful beat and the fish caught in fin perfect condition.

No fish caught fished the full stretch top to bottom. Rain didn't help.

Used 4mm pellet in bags and pellet hookbait. Had two barbel first thing but the river must have risen over 3ft during the course of the day and no bites after the first 2 fish.

4 chub on bread flake.

Barbel conspicuous by their absence. 4 chub from the inside of the bend.

Another good day on the Wye with fish caught steadily throughout the day.
