Only had couple of hours fishing before driving back to Cornwall. Lots of fish showing in the Vanstone Pool, some colouring residents & some very fresh fish. Had a lot of problems with weed drifting down a catching on the line & lure. Also couple of fish showed in the lines. Very frustrating morning with the weed.

My first ever Salmon, about 8lbs silver very good condition. A big thank you to the ghillie Mick who was spot on with the fly, way to fish the pool and tackle set up.
Some very nice fly water and pools. The section is very well looked after by Mick. A number of Salmon showed on the section.

Lost a fish from the Maddox after about 10min battle. Saw a few fish in the Vanstone and the Maddox. Low river level so it was hard to find fly water but we had fun all day. New location of the car park helps a lot.

Lovely countryside, sorry to say no fish caught. Found all this beat had lots of weed along the bottom of the river which made for a difficult day.

Fish splashing about but no contact. Also the first hint of a green tinge to the water. I believe I dropped a Pflueger Trion reel in the car park area - any news would be welcome either to the foundation or to timedmunds@aol.com

Promising conditions with air temperature low and cloud cover for most of the day but no interest from the salmon. One shad caught and a few others in evidence. A few resident salmon were seen in the Vanstone and the Dog Hole.
Anglers planning to visit the Wye from east of the Severn should note that Gloucester bridge is closed for road works and the diversion takes you up to the M50 at Tewkesbury.

Nil catch. Started early and saw fish in Maddox about 3/4 way down and Vanstone just off old groin. Canoeists started at 8.30 and then in procession from 11.30 onwards and made fishing virtually impossible so gave up at 12.30. Good work by Mick the ghillie in making it a more pleasant place to fish with good access.
