A beautiful stretch of river but nothing rising and no success with a nymph. Did however see an otter! Strongly recommend a wading staff on this section of the river.

1st blank day of the season, conditions were good, however hardly saw any fly about and didn't see a single fish rise all day. Had a really good take around lunchtime on a nymph fished on a floating line, added to the frustration as it felt a good fish! Farmer has fenced off stile in front of farm to gain access to upper part of the beat - WHY??
One good point to take from a disappointing day was that I didn't see any canoeists!
Liked the beat, just think I caught it on the wrong day. Would like to return at a later date, hopefully when there's a good rise as there was some lovely looking dry fly water.

Had a wonderful time and the location was lovely. Caught 2 wild trout on a gold head hares tail nymph first on the Friday at the bottom of the beat. Upsteam on the forth cast, 1lb in weight. Weather was warm and sunny. Fished the whole beat upstream and on the return downstream, just the two swims down from the water fall. I caught the second about 1 1/2lb downstream at about mid day. Both great condition. Nothing on Saturday as the temperature dropped.

Lovely, diverse section of water. There was a decent hatch of olives around lunch time but this failed to bring any fish to the surface. I had two trout of around 12 inches and lost a third fishing small, bead head nymphs in the deep riffles.
