First visit to a beautiful fishery. Some great looking runs, but struggled to find the grayling.

3 Trout, 1 Grayling

13 x grayling 15 - 18 inches, trotting. A remarkable bag of grayling including a large number of 17 inch fish. But, as noted elsewhere on the Irfon this year, where are the shotts? No sign of small or medium sized grayling at all. Water at 0.55 and clear as gin. A most enjoyable day if very cold.

Slow day but several grayling up to a 1lb caught.

The weather was bright and sunny, but the morning frost persisted through most of the days fishing. Nothing showing, so the fish were caught on small nymphs fished deep.

A blank ! But what a beautiful stretch of river - a pleasure just to be out on it. Whatever nymphs I tried were either wrong or cast to the wrong place - my fault and hopefully I will come back.
