Beautiful, varied stretch of river and we especially enjoyed the upstream half which was fished in the morning. Only two small fish to show for a lot of effort but we're confident we'll do better next time, when hopefully there will be more water and flow. Stayed at the excellent Cammarch Hotel, Llangammarch Wells which is only a few miles upstream.

Unfavourable conditions (weather – windy and showers, river – low and cold, no rising fish, fly life limited) made for a challenging day notwithstanding some of the wading however we made the most of the fabulous surroundings and the varied pools. We will be back. No catch to report.

A very cold northerly wind seem to keep the fly (and everything else) inactive. There were a few small grayling rising around mid day, other than that nothing.

No fish for me today, did manage to lose one though.
A sunny morning with a moderate down stream breeze made presentation difficult.
Plenty of fly hatch up to 1pm but not a single rise all day.
Weather got colder and the breeze much stronger in the afternoon, still some fly life.
I fished from the down stream boundary up to the end of the double bank fishing.
The only fish I saw was as I was walking back to the car, it just moved off station over some lighter bed rock then drifted back in.
The wading on this stretch varied with most of it being quite easy, the bed rock below the church is particularly slippery though. Wading staff highly recommended!

Great day weather was warm and sunny. Big hatch off brown caddis all up the river, made fish feed off the surface in only the deep water. Grayling were the only fish of the day, from 8 inches to 14 inches, no trout to be seen.

This beat was fished by three members of the Grayling Society on this occasion, all rods were trotting maggots. Weather and river conditions were perfect but the fish had other ideas!

Lovely beat, and I always expect to have a good catch, but failed to raise any interest. Mind you, it was bloody cold. Drove home through a blizzard.

From a consistent low level recently the river was rising from overnight rain on arrival and soon was up about a foot and carrying a heavy colour. The fly rod was swiftly put back in the car! As an alternative to the long drive home I persevered with trotting but with little confidence. Gauge only went up to about 0.7m, still in theory ok for trotting but I would say on a settled river, less so on the angry boiling broth witnessed today!
