Although a warm (hot) generally clear day, fishing was tough with the river very low and clear and very little fly life, although there was a very good hatch of Sedge in the evening around 8pm - this excited us far more than it did the fish, however. No interest to various methods used (duo, dry, spiders, French nymph) apart from the two fish caught - one grayling of about 1/2 lb to a midge pattern and one trout of just under 2 lb to the nymph. Still one of my favourite beats - one day will hit it right!

First time in Wales for discovery. No fish in dry fly, just one big brown trout seen and lost at striking.

An interesting days fish on a lovely beat.
There was very little activity early on but at around 1pm
a few Olives started to come off the water and fish started to look up, ended up with 3 fish all on dries; March Brown and CDC dun. Best fish was about 16" with a bigger fish seen but not risen.
A good day.

A blustery day with no surface activity. Lots of LDOs coming off between winds and mainly from noon until 2:30pm. We searched miles of water with a range of nymphs, emergers and dries, but it wasn't meant to be...this time. We'll be back later in the season when things have warmed up a little more!

Way too cold and couldn't stop the rings from icing up. We gave in after just a couple of hours!

Beautiful day, river very low and clear. Fished most deep glides czech nymph style with no success and then tried nymphs on long leader also without success. Saw only one fish all day, a chub I startled. Best part of the day was sitting on the bank eating my sandwiches and looking up to see a red kite gliding above. Second visit to this beat, only seen one fish caught, is it conditions, me or no fish?
