River running low due recent dry conditions. However, when we turned up we had a torrential down pour that set the tone for the whole day. At the end of the day some of the steep banks were getting slippery.
Enjoyed a great day as always on the Wye. Had 2 barbel 8:02 and 4:08 and a chub of around 4lb. All on feeder tactics

Another hot day on the Wye. Had some problem canoeists today which decided it would be a good idea to Moor on the opposite Holme lacy beat, play music and throw stones around. We then had another set which all decided to wait directly in front of where we were fishing - at least 20 of the imbaciles.
Back to the fishing - bites were very sparse across the day, a move brought a few more fish along with some nice chub on floating bread. We had one barbel that swam off after a long rest then went belly up. Fortunately we were able to walk out and net the fish and revive it. I can see why some owners are closing beats temporarily.
Had a free live music event from the house on the corner which was brilliant.

The first day of our annual pilgrimage to the mighty Wye. Although the old girl isn't looking quite so mighty with the very low flow. But still beautiful to the eye.
We fished in the woods where the water was quickest and connected with a few. Barbel to 5lb and chub to 3lb. All fish were well rested and swam off strongly. The weed was a constant problem and the sharp shower in the early evening was a transient one.
But another fabulous day in our favourite place. Two happy lads (one old 'un and one young 'un).

Very hot and very low, first time on the beat. Lots of dog walkers, several dived in to where we were fishing. Walked to bottom of the beat and couldn't find any areas fishable due to streamer weed but another beat I would revisit. 1 barbel, several small chub and dace.

Went fishing today with a colleague who has booked separately. His late arrival led to us starting at lunchtime and as he had travelled down for the day we also left a little early. I decided to let him fish the best swim, use some of my kit, offered moral support as he caught fish after fish, took photos of him with the fish and then helped carry his kit back to the car. It is after all a team game and it is not all about winning and losing! ( I clearly lost!) I cannot wait for the next session together! On a serious note this is a very nice beat albeit the woods are a little tricky even in dry weather.

Fished 2.00pm-8.00pm. I decided to make the arduous trek up the hill and through the woods to the faster water, whilst my fishing colleague (booked separately) bottled out and sat in the closest swim to the car. Eventually the sight of me catching fish brought him downstream to join me. Caught steadily, Barbel on lead/pellet bags (feeders are less productive in these conditions) and Chub on the float. All fish swam off strongly. An enjoyable afternoon!

Tough day a lot of weed to deal with. lost one within half hour of being there. Then nothing for hours. Had a small barbel about 2lb feeder fishing. Then decided to trott bread on the surface and had 2 chub within 15 mins.
