Early first morning, I’ve walked down to river with Salmon tackle, but nothing happened as I expected...Returned to my car and changed trout tackle, immediately I hooked good size of fish, unfortunately it’s gone. I missed again for next fish, finally I caught a grayling after couple of cast. The river was very quiet when the sun had risen. Late afternoon, I caught small brownie. It was beautiful beat, pretty of water and very clear. Only problem was my skill., but I was really enjoyed.

Lots of caddis about and the odd dun but only the occasional rise. Still trying to get the hang of this nymphing lark so pleased to have connected with a couple of small trout. Another beautiful stretch of river.

The upper beat was visited and fished between 06:30 and 11:30, weather conditions were bright and sunny with a light breeze and the river was slightly low with a tinge of colour following the rain on Tuesday. Four fish up to 14 inches were landed, 1 x grayling and 3 x brown trout. All were taken nymphing through the faster and deeper runs. No fish were seen rising.
This beat is so beautiful and it was such a pleasure to be here that I returned to fish the same upper beat in the evening between 18:00 and 21:00. Weather and river conditions were the same although the evening temperature was slightly warmer. Fish were seen rising in the glides and so I fished a sedge on the surface with a suspended ptn New Zealand style.
The evening resulted in 1 x grayling and 2 x brown trout to 13 inches. Again, a wonderful few hours on this beautiful section of the river.
Thank you again to the Foundation for all you do.
Kind regards to your team.

Both fish around the pound mark and caught on cdc shuttlecock emerger. There were a few groups of rising fish in the channel of the lower part of the beat but they were extremely spooky. Getting within casting range was possible but as soon as the fly went over they stopped rising, despite a 17ft leader and what I thought was impeccable presentation!
An enjoyable evening nevertheless.

Water was very low and clear but arrived early afternoon to see plenty of rising fish.
One trout and grayling pretty quickly in the faster water but the others would just disappear when we got close. We could see the shoals of Grayling swimming around in the deeper channels but no interest.
Best fish of the day came from just downstream of where the small stream enters the river, a nice fat 20 inch trout.
After 3 o’clock it started to get quiet with only one more trout and grayling. Hooked and lost another 8-10 though.
Odd that even though the river was very low there were a lot more little side streams running then we’ve seen before. Saw the usual kingfishers and dippers and an excellent day to be outside. Thanks very much

River was in pretty good conditions, although the level is now dropping a bit. Clear water, so hard work to find the fishes, but I have rewarded with 6 graylings, and all over 2 pounds. Fished again with French nymphing tecnique
