Normally the fish are in good condition however this time many appeared in poor condition

No fish today but an enjoyable day In beautiful surroundings. I appreciate its early season and flora growth is at its peak and water levels are low but few swims to fish. Some pre season work as most clubs undertake would not go a miss.

Very hot day bright sunshine and river low,nice to see weed growth in fast shallows.Fished all of the usual baits alternating throughout the day but no fish until late evening when 2 chub saved the blank.Fishery very overgrown in bottom end did not bother to fish here chub caught in fast water opposite island.

Too say it was very windy and blowing a gale would be an understatement! The river was well up reading 1.93m at Ross even though I suspect the monitor was probably jammed with a huge tree! Very tough going for both with two average sized chub saving the blank. No sign of any barbel which was surprising considering the water temp actually rose by 1oc over the day so definitely wasn’t snowmelt! Looking forward to the summer when we can fish the Wye in more favourable conditions
